The Farmington Libraries Children's Department is a hub of activity serving the educational, cultural, and recreational needs of the Farmington community and beyond for children ages birth through Grade 6, their caregivers, and individuals who work with children.
Kids Events
Let’s move and groove together at the Barney Library! We will read a fun book and do some dancing in the Hoppin Gallery. This is a drop in program, no registration required!
In Pint-Sized Picassos we share a story and explore a different art medium that will aim to focus on both early literacy and fine motor skills. Caregiver must accompany their child.
Registration Required; open to children ages 3-5.

Have fun getting to know the ABCs! This early literacy program focuses on teaching children the letters of the alphabet and their associated sounds through stories, crafts, and hands-on activities.

Priority registration for this program will be given to Farmington Library cardholders. A valid Farmington Library card number is required at the time of registration.
Those without a library card or a non-Farmington Library card number - please leave the Library Card space blank - you will be placed on a pending waitlist. As space becomes available, individuals will be automatically moved from the waitlist into the program in the order received.

Registration will begin on Saturday, February 14.
The U.S. Department of State has removed all 501(c)(3) Nonprofits from its Passport Acceptance Facility Program. As such, The Farmington Libraries are no longer authorized to accept and process passports as of February 13, 2026. No new appointments are being scheduled.
