Children's Summer Reading
The Summer Reading program officially runs from June 18 - August 18, you can register and start logging your reading on June 18.
Preschoolers - Visit either library to pick up a Summer Reading gameboard.
Grades K-6 - Register for our online program or call us for help.
Preschoolers - Check off each circle as you make your way through the gameboard.
Grades K-6 - Type in how many days you did any reading on our online program. You can make your entries daily, weekly, etc. - whatever works best for your family. Don't want to go online this summer? Feel free to keep track on paper and just email or call us with your information and we can enter it for you!
Preschoolers - Drop off your log by August 18.
Grades K-6 - Enter all of your days read by August 18. Earn a free book for reading at least 28 days. Spin the prize wheel at 14, 28, and 42 days. Also, every 7 days you read earns you a ticket for your chance to win one of several special prizes at the end of the summer!! (ticket prizes chosen on August 18)
All prizes must be claimed by September 6.

Teen Summer Reading
REGISTER ON OR AFTER JUNE 1, 2025 and begin logging on June 18th! Download the ReadSquared app or visit the Youth Services Department to register.
Earn points for each day you read—any amount counts! Keep track in our online program. Don't want to go online this summer? Feel free to keep track on paper and just email or call us with your information and we can enter it for you!
Use your points to enter raffles and get prizes on your 14th, 28th, 42nd, and 56th day of reading!

We Play Wednesday
Come play at Barney Library. Time for caregivers and children to form friendships! Parents can chat while children play in the Gallery turned playroom! Drop in for a few minutes or stay the whole time. No registration required.
Pokémon Party
Calling all Pokémon fans!
Silent Book Club
At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. All readers are welcome it's BYOBook (or browse the library shelves!). When you arrive head upstairs to Information Services, there's a variety of seating options.
Silly Sloth Storytime and Craft
Kids going into kindergarten through grade three can join us for a silly sloth story. After our story, we will make a sleepy sloth craft to take home!
