On Wednesday, May 14th, I gave a talk on the history of libraries in Farmington and Unionville through the 1950s to 1983, when the Main Branch at 6 Monteith Drive was completed and opened to the public.
Yoto is the ultimate screen-free audio player that brings focus and imagination to busy little mind. In addition to Yoto players the Barney Library is home to over 60 Yoto cards that include stories, music and activities for children to enjoy.
The 2025 Summer Reading program officially runs from June 18 - August 18!
Preschoolers - Visit either library on or after June 18 to pick up a Summer Reading gameboard. Turn in your gameboard by August 18!

Award-winning author and illustrator Raina Telgemeier and cartoonist and comic theorist Scott McCloud have been selected Honorary Chairs of the American Library Association’s National Library Week, April 6-12, 2025.
