Week Calendar

Ages 12-23 Months with a caregiver.  A fun-filled storytime featuring books, music, movement, and playtime! 

Registration Required; registering for one class registers you for the whole session. 

Terrific Twos is designed for the child who will be 24 months old at the start of the session. We will build early literacy skills through repetition and the use of books, rhymes, play and songs. 

Get ready to wiggle, read and explore! This sensory storytime centers movement and sensory exploration to enhance learning outcomes for toddlers!

Drop-in program.

This high-energy music and movement class will have us dancing and laughing!  We'll start with a story and then move to the music.

It's a stuffed animal party at the library! Children will be able to drop off their stuffed animals on January 16th from 3-5pm. Stuffed animals will then spend the night at the library!

This Storytime weaves the development of language and listening skills into a fun-filled program of read-alouds, flannel board activities, music, movement, and rhymes. This session will focus on stories and songs from different cultures.

In Pint-Sized Picassos we share a story and explore a different art medium that will aim to focus on both early literacy and fine motor skills. Caregiver must accompany their child.

Registration Required; open to children ages 3-5.

In Bite Size Science we will share a story and complete an exciting experiment or project focusing on early science concepts!

Have fun getting to know the ABCs! This early literacy program focuses on teaching children the letters of the alphabet and their associated sounds through stories, crafts, and hands-on activities. 

Ages 4 and 5 for the child alone; caregivers must stay in the Children's Department. Registration required once for entire session. 

Spend a delightful afternoon unwinding through art and music! Join local artist Melina for a creative experience designed to help you relax, express yourself, and have fun.

Join us for an engaging 45-minute lecture that explores Connecticut’s rise during the Second Industrial Revolution through the fascinating stories of the prominent families who influenced the state’s built environment and cultural landscape.

Kids ages 8 to 12 can sign up to join us at the Barney Library to learn basic engineering and coding with Lego SPIKE Prime!  Build and code to create amazing LEGO models that come to life. Space is limited, registration is required.

This Switch Tournament is open to friends in Grades 7-12! 

Join us each session to read a magical story and do a craft based on it! This month we will read Ning and the Night Spirits by Adriena Fong and create our own magical glowing clay creature lanterns!

Join us in our MakerSpace for STEAM related fun! Get an introduction to our equipment like the 3D printer and Cricut while getting some hands-on experience.

Enjoy spilling the tea with your Best-teas! A Craft and Chat program open for friends in Grades 7-12 looking to chat with good company and enjoy some delicious tea.

Adaptive storytime will offer families of  neurodiverse children ages 4 -10 a relaxed, interactive storytime.

We have teamed up with The Farmington High School Robotics Team for an engaging evening to teach basic S.T.E.A.M principles, all while having fun! Join us each week for a new Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math topic!
