Week Calendar

A fun-filled half hour for child and caregiver featuring books, fingerplays and lots of music. 

Registration required; register once for the whole session. 

 Each week we will share a story and explore a different art medium that will aim to focus on both early literacy and fine motor skills. Caregiver must accompany their child.

For caregivers of babies ages 0 to 12 months. Registration required; registering for one class registers you for the session.  

Drop-in program.

This high-energy music and movement class will have us dancing and laughing!  We'll start with a story and then move to the music.

 Have fun getting to know the ABCs! This early literacy program focuses on the alphabet by introducing children to a different letter of the alphabet each week through stories, music, and a craft.

National Take Your Child to the Library Day is going to the dogs!  Stop by the library to enjoy these special events:

Main Library:

For two-year-olds and their caregivers. Registration required; register once for the 6-week session. 

Let’s move and groove together in the Library! We will read a fun book and do some dancing. We will meet in the Gallery upstairs at the Barney. This is a drop in program.

Ages 2.5 - 3 and their caregivers. Registration required; register once for the 8-week session. 

Celebrate the Month!

In February we will celebrate Groundhog's day with a special story time and craft!

For three-year-olds and their caregivers. Registration Required; registering for one class registers you for the session.

You are an explorer on the artic and you notice a penguin that’s separated from its waddle! There are sea lions and sharks surrounding them so they can’t swim away and it’s only a matter of time before they get too hungry!

Barney Kids Book Club

Ages 5-10

Join Miss Amy at Barney to read a book and do a craft.  This program will meet indoors in the Hoppin Gallery.

For children ages 7-12 who have gone through "Learn to Knit" with Miss Paula.  No registration required. 

Learn to Knit.  This beginner program is best suited for kids ages 7-12.  We will provide needles and yarn to begin.  Let's knit a project together!
