Discover the creative world of needle felting in this hands-on beginner workshop! Perfect for those new to fiber arts, this session will introduce you to the fundamentals of needle felting—a fun and accessible craft that transforms wool into adorable figures and shapes using special barbed needles.
What to Expect:
- Introduction to Needle Felting: Learn about the different types of wool and felting needles and get a brief overview of the needle felting process.
- Demonstration: Watch a step-by-step demonstration on forming basic shapes—the foundation for creating animals, figures, and decorative objects.
- Hands-On Project: Guided by the instructor, you’ll create your own Hedgehog! All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a finished piece and the confidence to continue felting at home!
- Community & Support: Enjoy a relaxed, social atmosphere with time for questions, sharing progress, and connecting with fellow crafters.
Skill Level:
Beginner—no prior experience required.

All materials and tools are included (valued at $25).
Duration:
Approximately 2 hours, including time for Q&A.
Take Home:
A finished needle felted creation, printed handouts with key tips, and the inspiration to keep crafting. Join us and discover how easy and enjoyable it is to turn wool into whimsical works of art!
Meet your Instructor
This workshop is led by Jocelyn Kennedy. Jocelyn creates both 3D sculptures and 2D wool “paintings”, sometimes combining both in one work of art. Jocelyn also serves as our Executive Director!
Please note: There are two different From Wool to Whimsy programs. If you are signed up for one, you may not sign up for the other. We want to make sure that we give all community members a chance to enjoy the program.
