The the Kellogg Environmental Center will visit our library with microscopes and hand lenses to view a collection of sand from Connecticut beaches, streams, and lakes along with some samples from other states. Learn how sand is made, what gives it color, and why some sand makes castles and other sand will not. Make natural paint from sand and soil to create your own picture to take home!
