Join us for a foray into Junk Journaling!

A form of art journaling, Junk Journaling is a fun way to record your memories and creative expressions. Kind of like a scrapbook or traditional journal for memory keeping with pieces of "junk", either as a collage or with some kind of caption/memory about that object.

Over two workshops this summer, create your own journal, and start your junk journey!

What is the "junk"?
Those receipts you have piling up in your wallet, stickers you've been hanging on to since childhood, pictures from magazines, discarded book pages, your candy wrappers, old movie tickets, the possibilities are endless! The library will supply some things that fit into this theme, but feel free to bring some of your own items to journal with or share with others!

What will I learn in these workshops?
We will talk about the benefits of journaling, and learn more about different artistic forms or the practice. You'll have the chance to decorate your own book or create your own journal. We will have themes and prompts that fit within it on each workshop day, but you can also lean into your creativity and make whatever pages you are inspired to by our discussions and supplies!

Registration is encouraged, and this program is open to Teens (entering Grades 7-12) and Adults!
