This engaging presentation discusses some of the first century Farmington Valley peoples. From Farmington, the presentation includes the story of Rev. Noah Porter having to navigate his way through a divided congregation over the issue of slavery, Mormon church leader Wilford Woodruff's formative years in Farmington working at George Cowles' mill and the Farmington Academy, and Theodate Pope Riddle's construction of Avon Old Farms School. Scott is also promoting his newest book which discusses these topics in greater detail.
