Program Description

Event Details

The Connecticut Paid Leave Authority (CTPL) is a quasi-public state agency established to administer and oversee the Connecticut Paid Leave program following the passage of enabling legislation in 2019. The Authority is responsible for ensuring that the program operates efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with state law, while providing critical income-replacement benefits to eligible workers across Connecticut.

In this presentation, staff from the Connecticut Paid Leave Authority will provide a comprehensive overview of the program, including eligibility requirements, qualifying events, benefit calculations, and timelines. Attendees will learn how to access the system, submit an application, navigate the approval process, and understand their rights and responsibilities as eligible workers. The session will also clarify common misconceptions and highlight how CT Paid Leave works alongside employer benefits and federal protections.

This lecture is intended to equip participants with accurate, practical knowledge so they can confidently make informed decisions when planning for family or medical leave.
