This presentation will be drawn from Dr. Benfield’s five years working with the Canadian National Parks system where he wrote the first management plan on the Canmore Corridor, the service area immediately adjacent to Banff National Park, before becoming Executive Director of the Banff - Lake Louse Chamber of Commerce. He will also draw on his ten years teaching National Parks and World Heritage Sites and his travels all over the USA to see the 59 parks of the US National Park system. He has also visited over 115 countries assess their National Parks system. This will illustrate the nature of National Parks in East Africa, the Himalayas, South-East Asia and South America.
