In Pint-Sized Picassos we share a story and explore a different art medium that will aim to focus on both early literacy and fine motor skills. Caregiver must accompany their child.

Registration Required; open to children ages 3-5.

Have fun getting to know the ABCs! This early literacy program focuses on teaching children the letters of the alphabet and their associated sounds through stories, crafts, and hands-on activities. 

Friends in Grades 7-12 can drop in to this program in the Teen Space during after school time to try something new! Learn a new skill, try a DIY, make a craft, the possibilities are endless! 

Terrific Twos is designed for the child who will be 24 months old at the start of the session. We will build early literacy skills through repetition and the use of books, rhymes, play and songs. 

In Bite Size Science we will share a story and complete an exciting experiment or project focusing on early science concepts!

Registration Required; registering for one class registers you for the whole session. Open to those ages 3-5!

Join Miss Shana or Miss Amy for 30 minutes of books, finger plays and songs perfect for ages 0 to 24 month. This lapsit storytime is the perfect introduction to storytimes for babies and caregivers. 

Adaptive storytime will offer families of  neurodiverse children ages 4 -10 a relaxed, interactive storytime.

Please note this meeting will be held via Zoom. 

There is time for public comment at each regularly scheduled Board meeting. Should you wish to speak please register with the Administration office.

Get ready to wiggle, read and explore! This sensory storytime centers movement and sensory exploration to enhance learning outcomes for toddlers!

For caregivers of babies ages 0 to 12 months. Drop In!

Ages 4 and 5 for the child alone; caregivers must stay in the Children's Department. Registration required once for entire session. 

Learn to draw all sorts of cartoon characters with award winning nationally syndicated cartoonist Rick Stromoski . He'll teach you how to draw a variety of characters and much more.

Registration Required. For kids in grades 3-6.

This high-energy music and movement class will have us dancing and laughing!  We'll start with a story and then move to the music.

Come play with some toys at the Barney Library. Open play time with our toys! Drop in, no registration required perfect for ages 1-5.

Friends in Grades 7-12 can join in an exciting TableTop RolePlaying Game (TTRPG)- Library Cats! 

Collaborate with other players to tell a story in a shared fictional, fantasy library.

 Professional ballerinas will tell a ballet story and do a ballet performance! Afterwards, children will be able to participate in a short dance class. Then children will be able to meet and take pictures with the ballerinas. 

This Storytime weaves the development of language and listening skills into a fun-filled program of read-alouds, flannel board activities, music, movement, and rhymes. This session will focus on stories and songs from different cultures.

Kids in Grades K to 4 can join us at the Barney Library for a different activity each month! This is a time for Creativity, Reading, Engineering, Art, Technology, and Exploration! Will we build with LEGOs? Make our own graphic novel? Paint?

Ages 12-23 Months with a caregiver.  A fun-filled storytime featuring books, music, movement, and playtime!
