For caregivers of babies ages 0 to 12 months. Drop In!

Ages 4 and 5 for the child alone; caregivers must stay in the Children's Department. Registration required once for entire session. 

Join us each session to read a magical story and do a craft based on it! This month we will read Ning and the Night Spirits by Adriena Fong and create our own magical glowing clay creature lanterns!

We have teamed up with The Farmington High School Robotics Team for an engaging evening to teach basic S.T.E.A.M principles, all while having fun! Join us each week for a new Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math topic!

Drop-in program.

This high-energy music and movement class will have us dancing and laughing!  We'll start with a story and then move to the music.

It's a stuffed animal party at the library! Children will be able to drop off their stuffed animals on January 16th from 3-5pm. Stuffed animals will then spend the night at the library!

In Pint-Sized Picassos we share a story and explore a different art medium that will aim to focus on both early literacy and fine motor skills. Caregiver must accompany their child.

Have fun getting to know the ABCs! This early literacy program focuses on teaching children the letters of the alphabet and their associated sounds through stories, crafts, and hands-on activities. 

Terrific Twos is designed for the child who will be 24 months old at the start of the session. We will build early literacy skills through repetition and the use of books, rhymes, play and songs. 

Join Miss Shana or Miss Amy for 30 minutes of books, finger plays and songs perfect for ages 0 to 24 month. This lapsit storytime is the perfect introduction to storytimes for babies and caregivers. 

Adaptive storytime will offer families of  neurodiverse children ages 4 -10 a relaxed, interactive storytime.

Get ready to wiggle, read and explore! This sensory storytime centers movement and sensory exploration to enhance learning outcomes for toddlers!

Learn to draw all sorts of cartoon characters with award winning nationally syndicated cartoonist Rick Stromoski . He'll teach you how to draw a variety of characters and much more.

Come play with some toys at the Barney Library. Open play time with our toys! Drop in, no registration required perfect for ages 1-5.

 Professional ballerinas will tell a ballet story and do a ballet performance! Afterwards, children will be able to participate in a short dance class. Then children will be able to meet and take pictures with the ballerinas. 

This Storytime weaves the development of language and listening skills into a fun-filled program of read-alouds, flannel board activities, music, movement, and rhymes. This session will focus on stories and songs from different cultures.

Kids in Grades K to 4 can join us at the Barney Library for a different activity each month! This is a time for Creativity, Reading, Engineering, Art, Technology, and Exploration! Will we build with LEGOs? Make our own graphic novel? Paint?
