The items in this bag have been selected to help children self-regulate by meeting their sensory needs. This kit can be used to make the library more accessible to those with increased sensory needs or to help a child calm down from a heightened emotional state. Any child can use this kit while visiting the library.
Each Sensory Bag for Older Children includes the following:
- 1 pair of ear defender headphones
- 1 liquid timer
- 1 pair of sunglasses
- 3 fidgets
- 1 set of communication cards
Each Sensory Bag for Younger Children includes the following:
- 1 pair of ear defender headphones
- 1 liquid timer
- 1 pair of sunglasses
- 1 emotions slider toy
- 2 fidgets
- 1 set of communication cards
A weighted lap pad is available upon request.
Where can we borrow a sensory bag?
These bags are available for in-library use only and can be picked up in the Children’s Department and returned before leaving. No library card needed.
