Summer Saturdays

Summer Saturday hours, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, begin Saturday, June 25 and run through Labor Day.

Independence Day Closing

The Farmington Libraries will be closed Saturday, July 2 - Monday, July 4 for Independence Day. 

2022 Youth Media Awards

The American Library Association (ALA) announced the top books, digital media, video and audio books for children and young adults on Monday, January 24 – including the Caldecott, Coretta Scott King, Newbery and Printz awards.

Some winner highlights 

  • The Last Cuentista written by Donna Barba Higuera, is the 2022 Newbery Medal winner. 
  • Watercress illustrated by Jason Chin, is the 2022 Caldecott Medal winner.
  • Unspeakable: The Tulsa Race Massacre, written by Carole Boston Weatherford and illustrated by Floyd Cooper is both the Coretta Scott King Author Book & Illustrator Book winner. 
  • Grace Lin won the The Children’s Literature Legacy Award.
  • The 2022 Margaret A. Edwards Award for lifetime achievement in writing for young adults is A. S. King.
