Understanding Home Care in Connecticut

Do you or a loved one need help with personal care? Would you like to stay out of a nursing home and learn about in-home care options? Whether you need nursing or therapy, help with medications, bathing, housecleaning, meal preparation or companionship, the choices are many. Then try to figure out what is paid for by insurance, what is not, and how Medicaid can help pay for care if you can’t afford it. There’s a lot to know! Come learn from a nurse from the Farmington Valley VNA and an attorney from the elder law firm Czepiga Daly Pope & Perri. You’ll walk away understanding what kind of care you can receive at home and what kind support you can get from state- and federally-funded programs like Medicaid and the Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders.
Presenter Bios
Nancy Scheetz is the Executive Director for the Farmington Valley VNA. She is a board certified APRN with over 36 years of experience in the health care industry.
Attorney Brendan F. Daly is the managing partner of Czepiga Daly Pope & Perri, where he practices in the areas of elder law, estate and disability planning and estate administration. Brendan has received the designation of Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA), a certification awarded by the National Elder Law Foundation.
