Exhibitors and artists will be charged a $50 fee for use of the gallery and display cases at the Main Library and the Barney Library, unless the items displayed are their personal collection, not for sale.

The purpose of the gallery spaces and exhibit cases at the Farmington Library and the Barney Library is to present exhibits in all media that serve to stimulate appreciation and knowledge of art in the Farmington Community. The spaces are available to any artist or collector wishing to exhibit/display their artwork/collection.
Artists interested in exhibiting their work should make available photographs or examples of representative work and when applicable, a list of galleries, museums or shows where their work has been. Responsibility for acceptance of collections and individual works for exhibit is delegated by the Board of Trustees to the Library Director and/or the staff responsible for booking the spaces.
The artist will work the library staff in placing the artwork to develop an effective exhibit. The artist may plan a formal opening and should clear the date with the Reference Department or Branch Librarian. Food and beverage may be served. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited unless waived by the Library Board by applying one month in advance of requesting artist's opening.
Exhibits run for approximately one month, except for the month(s) when t he Friends of the Library have their major fund-raiser, the Used Book Sale, held at the main library. The artist is responsible for their own supplies when hanging their exhibit i.e. hammer, nails, tape measure, etc.; and is responsible for the removal of nails or hangers from the wall when taking down their exhibit.
The Farmington Village Green & Library Association (FVGLA), the Library Director, Library Committee, Employees, and Volunteers assume no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage of any property of any group or individuals using the gallery or exhibit spaces.
The Library reserves the right to publicize the exhibit and related events. The staff will request from the artist or exhibitor relevant biographical information as well as information pertaining to the work or collection on exhibit.
The exhibits are open to the public during library hours. However, the gallery spaces are used for other programs and events. Persons wishing to view exhibits should check with the library for availability of the room.
